Tim Tells It: Bullying

Dear Tim: Lately, someone has been bothering me during class time. They say and do mean things, like name calling and putting me down. What are some ways I can deal with my bully?

Dear Bullied: The first thing you can do is to ignore them and to walk away whenever possible. Bullies feed off of your reaction, so if you don't react, they don't win. Also alert staff to the situation so they can get involved when necessary. Don't don't have to go it alone. In whatever way works for you, let them know in the moment so they can step in. If the staff member doesn't take you seriously, let someone else know. Stay strong and don't let that bully push you around.
