Handmade Gifts for the Holidays
Cards
The simplest handmade gift you can give is a card with a heartfelt message. You will need some basic supplies, like cardstock, envelopes, markers, stickers, stamps, glitter and more. You can make it as easy or as complex as you like. And don't forget a poem or other message to express holiday cheer.
Eats
There are many different food items you can make, from breads to candies to popcorn balls to cookies. One of the most elaborate things you can bake are gingerbread houses! To start you will either need real gingerbread or graham crackers, along with plenty of icing. Optional decorations include: gumdrops, candy canes, sprinkles, M & Ms and really anything edible you can think of.
Ornaments
Another easy and popular option are handmade ornaments. You can use anything from cardstock to clay to fabric to gourds. Decorate with glue, glitter, paint, beads and cotton balls for snow. Use a wire or yarn to hang your creations on the tree.
Plants
Pick a beautiful pointsetta and put it in a handpainted pot. Arrange some flowers in a handmade vase. Tie a ribbon around a sprig of mistletoe and give it to someone you want to kiss. Or decorate a wreath with pinecones, lights, ribbon and tinsel.
