Annual ETC/BVD Show Opens Friday

Every year our two professional, mixed ability performing arts companies Equilibrium Theater Company (ETC) and Buen Viaje Dance Company (BVD) put on a show for the community. This year will showcase two original works, ETC's "Our City" and BVD's "More Than." The shows will run back to back April 21st and 22nd, as well as the 28th and 29th, starting at 7pm in the VSA N. 4th Theater.

"Our City" is inspired by Thorton Wilder's classic play "Our Town." It's an ensemble piece and tells the story of life in our city, including the activities of a basketball team, an arts center and the city paper. The three act play runs about half an hour and will open the evening's performances.

The BVD show "More Than" consists of solo and group dance pieces, as well as improvised and choreographed dances. The title refers to the labels we give people with disabilities and how we are more than just our ability. The dancers will go on as the final performance of the night.
