Albuquerque Museum Outing

The Albuquerque Museum is one of our favorite outings, because they offer free admission on the first Wednesday of every month! We took advantage of the opportunity to check out their exhibit on New Mexico's film industry called "Hollywood Southwest: New Mexico in Film and Television." Though we were unable to take pictures of the main exhibit, there was an amazing collection of movie posters and memorabilia, including costumes from such films as The Lone Ranger, Thor and the TV shows Breaking Bad and Longmire. A second part of the exhibit included activities, like creating your own movie poster and a green screen experience. You can check it out through August 27th.

We also visited the permanent exhibit, "Only in Albuquerque", where we saw pictures of historical Albuquerque and took part in interactive installations, such as building a wall with foam Adobe bricks and listening to short films about our city's history on nifty handheld devices.

In addition to enjoying what the museum had on offer, we also saw many friends from other dayhabs and programs in the Albuquerque community. I guess we weren't the only ones interested in free admission!
